Show Violet Gentry Bertha Angus Gold & Green Ball Highlights Week One of the highlights in entertainment enter-tainment in our ward was the Gold and Green Ball put on by the Mutual. The decorations were lovely and the theme' was "Marsh-mallow "Marsh-mallow Winter." Six small girls dressed in skating costumes sang the theme song, There were two floor shows: the "teen agers and the all-igrls' dance were enjoyed by a very large crowd. Music was by Reynolds' Rey-nolds' orchestra. Refreshments were served and many from other towns were present. ( A large number from here attended at-tended the stake Gold and Green Ball at Victory Park Saturday night. The' all-girls dance of Ioka girls was part of the floor show. All the officers and teachers of Primary attended the preparation meeting in Roosevelt Saturday. William Milligan is visiting his son and daughter-in-law of Roosevelt. Roose-velt. Mr, Milligan recently returned return-ed from a trip to Denver. Omni Winterton of Roosevelt was a business visitor in Ioka last week. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Lemon spent a few days last week with their daughter, Mr, and Mrs. Max Hart-man Hart-man of Mt. Emmons. COTTAGE MEETING A cottage meeting was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Lloyd, Friday. Mrs. Olive Sorenson ' and son, A. V and Mr. and Mrs. Dean Washburn and family visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Sher-man Sorenson of Roosevelt Friday. Fri-day. , John Haugland, who has been quite ill, is reported much improved im-proved . at this writing. Devon Gentry of Myton called on Mr. and Mrs. Tom Gentry Friday afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Clair Benson of Orderville are visiting Clair's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Archie' Benson. GOING TO ALASKA Mr. and Mrs. Jieed Lemon received re-ceived word that their son, Keith, .is stationed at Ft. Lewis, Wash., and expects to' leave for Alaska soon. Mr. and Mrs.. James Lloyd and Otto Lloyd went to Duchesne Sunday Sun-day to see their sister, Mrs. Ed Crosby, who is in the Health Center. Cen-ter. She has been , very sick, but is better now. Mrs. Lawrence Odekirk received word from her son, Edward Knight of Tulsa, Okla, that her father had suffered a stroke. Her daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Hope Evans of Oklahoma Okla-homa City also called her. Mrs. I Odekirk left by bus Friday morn- ing for Oklahoma City from where' she will go to her father at Tulsa. He is 87 years old and he and wife celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Christmas Day. Les Gardner was the High Councilman visitor at Sunday School, Sunday. Speakers at Sacrament meeting Sunday were Alton D, Percival, president of the Deacons quorum, Charles Ray Richens, a Deacon, and Bertha B. Angus. Closing remarks re-marks by Bishop James F. Lemon were also enjoyed. |
