Show This Week's RECIPE.,. Good meat dishes are always welcome by housewives. The following fol-lowing recipes are recommended this week by Mrs. Faye Jensen. STUFFED ROUND STEAK 1 round steak 14 cup shortening salt and pepper Dressing Dressing: 2 cups stale bread crumbs y2 tsp. ground sage 1 tbs. chopped parsley y2 tsp. salt 2 tbs, melted butter 1 egg 2 tbs. grated onion Combine bread crumbs and seasonings. sea-sonings. Blend with butter and egg. Add enough hot water to moisten (but not make soggy). Place dressing on steak. Roll steak and tie with string or fasten with tooth picks or s'crewers. Sear in hot fat. Place in casserole' or covered roaster. Add 1 cup cream and bake slowly (325 to 350 deg.) approximately approxi-mately 2 hours. Delicious served with baked potatoes. STUFFED PORK CHOPS Buy extra thick pork chops. Slit for stuffing. Place one round-ing round-ing tbs, dressing in chop. Sear chop on both sides. Add 1 cup cream or water and bake 1 hour. Serve with mushroom sauce (canned (can-ned mushroom soup, diluted with chop drippings, milk or cream may be used).. |
