Show Stale Mutual Gold And Green Balls Declared Successful Themed' to "God Bless America" the' Roosevelt stake MIA Gold and Green Ball proved one of the most successful ever held, with an overflowing crowd attending the social function last Saturday night at Victory Park. The 'teen-age Ball, held Friday night was also a definite success, when a large group of young people peo-ple from the 1 stake participated. Music both nights was to Tal Wardle's orchestra. The' Statute of Liberty with lighted torch greeted guests.. Uncle Sam was also a featured character char-acter and the star lit ceiling made an appropriate setting for the dances. The theme song, "God Bless America," was sung by Mrs, Clair Hollingsworth, accompanied' accom-panied' by Mrs. Joe Moody. Floor shows were presented both nights under the supervision of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Gutzman, stake dance directors. Wards participating par-ticipating included the four Roosevelt Roose-velt wards, Neola, Ioka and Mof-fatt. Mof-fatt. Emcee for the program was Evan Percival, stake superintendent. superinten-dent. Climaxing the floor show was the' All-Girls' dance number, presented by three sets of girls dressed in red, white and blue, from Roosevelt 4th, Moffatt and Ioka wards. This will be one of the dances featured at June Conference. Con-ference. Stake activity counselors, Dora Curry and Burr Eldredge, were in charge of the two-night activity, acti-vity, assisted by the YWMIA president, Blanche' Murphy, the YMMIA superintendent, Evan Percival. Per-cival. Advertising was in charge of Mr, and Mrs. Thomas Jeppson and Mr. and Mrs. Reed Hancock;, and decorations were under the direction direc-tion of Leah Allred, Mr. and Mrs. Gutzman and Mrs. Bill Parrish, assisted by other board members. Officers and . committees in charge of the highly successful event are deserving of much praise and credit for the efforts extended in sponsoring two outstanding social, so-cial, events' of the season. |
