Show Basketball Game Ends In Injury To Eye Aaron Rasmussen, son of Mr. and Mrs, Oler Rasmussen, had the misfortune of being hit in his left eye, while playing basketball at Myton Friday evening. It was thought at first he would have to be taken to Salt Lake, but due to bad road's the trip was delayed. It was first feared he would lose the sight of his eye. However, he is improving at present. ATTEND MEETING Eighty-five per cent of the officers offi-cers and teachers attended the stake Primary preparation meeting meet-ing in Roosevelt Saturday afternoon. after-noon. , Mr. and Mrs, Jess Hulfinger attended at-tended the LDS meeting at AvaLon on Sunday, Jan. 22. Mrs. Wendell Johnson is substituting sub-stituting as teacher in Roosevelt Junior High School for Mrs. rRhoda Rudy, while she is in Salt Lake City receiving medical care. George Bracken acted as substitute sub-stitute custodian at Alterra for two days last week, Ballard' ward MIA members were very well represented at the Gold and Green Ball held at Victory Vic-tory Park Friday and Saturday evenings. Some of the LDS missionaries for the Indians have met at the Alterra Seminary building the last two Sundays to hold meetings. Miss Marion Gardner was in from Denver to spend the last weekend with home folks. Mrs. Jessie Dean, who is employed em-ployed in Salt Lake City, visited a few days last week. She' was at the Howard Dean home and also visited her mother, Mrs. Effie Winn at the Earl Gardner home. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Winn went to Vernal on Tuesday to receive medical care. Mr. Winn had a cist removed from the back of his neck. Mr. and Mrs, Charles Bingham and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Brighton and two children were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank McMullin at their home in Randlett one day last week. NEW COUNSELORS Mrs, Jean Brisbin and Mrs. Verda Ver-da Rasmussen are counselors to Mrs. Dorothy Kettle in the Y. W. M. I., A. now. Mr and Mrs. Max Todd and two children visited with Mfs. Todd's parents, Mr. and Mrs, Rex Gardner Gard-ner in Maeser, on Sunday afternoon. after-noon. DeVon Seeley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Azel Seeley now of Washington, Washing-ton, but formerly of Ballard, has been attending officers' training school and has now been transferred trans-ferred to Pendleton, Calif. , Calvin Squire, who is employed at Kearns, and Alden White, who is working at Provo, were' home to spend the weekend 1 with home folks. They report the roads very bad. The stake will entertain at a farewell party for Mr. and Mrs. Ray E. Dillman at the stake recreation rec-reation hall on Feb. 8, and the public is invited. The theology lesson will be given at Relief Society on Feb. 7 by Mrs. Eunice Cook. Miss Genieve Johnson had charge of the Fireside' held after Sacrament meeting. The speakers were Ercil Johnson and Mr. Heath of Roosevelt. Mr. and Mrs. Nile Ainge of Jensen Jen-sen visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Von Haslem one day last week. A special meeting was called at the stake chapel for all stake members who were working with the Cub Scouts; all' bishops and Primary presidents were' urged to be there also. Ballard ward was very well represented. |
