WiLliams, salt Lake Division Di-vision Manager of Safeway. "Our figures show a sales increase in-crease of almost 1,100,000 pounds of beef and veal during 1955 when f compared with the previous year for this Intermountain area," the ; Safeway head pointed out. ' "It is also interesting to ncte I that this beef sales increase in this area was- made in face of the lowest priced pork in the past I decade. In fact, a sales increase j of over 20 was recorded in : pork tonnage," Williams added, j "Furthermore, lamb sales remained remain-ed at substantially the same level as a year ago." High consumer demand for beef and lower retail' prices' weTe factors fac-tors to which the Safeway head attributed the sales increase. "Pro- motion by producers and news-I news-I paper advertising by retailers are t making consumers more beef-con- scious. The fact is that beef today j is the best buy in years'," Williams i declared. |
