Show FARManiHOMEte UTAH N BTATP EXTENSION SERVICE ACRirULTI'RIf BOMB WONiMU" By Mary Lois Reichert Home Demonstration Aaent GET YOUR HOME READY FOR SPRING These days when we spend more than the usual amount of time in our homes, is an excellent time' for us to check on home furnishings and make needed repairs', in preparation pre-paration for the spring beautifi-cation beautifi-cation program. There is one job that concerns most home makers, if they have spring-filled cushions on their chairs or couches. It is repacking the springs inside the cushions. Check your cushions today to see if they are just as fit and the corners are just as well filled as they were the day you bought them. If you detect sunken in corners, cor-ners, rounding surfaces and maybe bulges in the' middle of the cushion cush-ion it means a repair job is overdue, over-due, so don't delay longer. This isn't a difficult job if you 'do it while your cushion is still in pretty good condition. When the cushion was new all of the 30 or more springs on the inside of it were incased in muslin pockets that were all stitched together as a unit, A bulging cushion indicates that the springs have broken out of the pockets and are crowding toward the middle of the cushion. This makes for an unsightly appearance ap-pearance and most uncomfortable setting. Detailed instructions on how you can re-build your inner-spring cushions may be had through your County Extension office. 'Just ask i for the publication on Repair of Inner Spring Cushions. Get all your cushions in repair now so that job won't be added to the general spring cleaning later. |
