Show Second Reason For Title I was reading this week The Clipper article on the Woods Cross basketball team's quotes on why they won the slate title. I feel there is another reason. It is the acceptance of one of my students stu-dents as third manager for the team. KOR TWO years Alan Gray, a special education student, has helped the team. Coaches Baker and Jackson, managers Bruce Barclay and Jon Stead-man, Stead-man, and the other team members mem-bers have shown friendliness and understanding to Alan in the performance of his duties. Alan was given a school letter let-ter last year for his services. The togetherness and unselfishness unself-ishness of the whole team was not shown on the floor, but it seems, off the floor as well. ONE EXAMPLE was the time the team was leaving on the bus for an afternoon game. The two managers, Bruce and Jon, came in my room asking where Alan was. I sensed their sincere concern con-cern for him. I told them Alan was working at Carol's Kitchen. Kitch-en. He chose a mature attitude to emphasize his job this year and help the team out when he could. THREE YEARS ago our principal, Mr. Richard Allen, said he wanted special education educa-tion students in his school. He knew the regular students would learn tolerance and compassion. This is one example of character char-acter growth of our student body. The whole basketball team deserves the state title, I believe, for more than one reason. "Way to go, fella's."
