IN GIRLS class :il competition com-petition the Saltos Class two gymnasts defeated Rocky Mountain gymnastics by over six points, with first year Class 2 Julie Bulloch taking first place in (he all-around. She was followed by teammates Missy Edson. second; Kathryn Kutasy, third; Tonya Stewart, fifth; Amie Champagne, Cham-pagne, sixth: and Cacey Ye-ates. Ye-ates. 10th. Yvonne Sonzini, Jennifer Landward, and Susan Bradford also competed Class 2 for the Saltos. In Class One competition Rocky Mountain oulscored the Saltos with their 12 member mem-ber team. Picked as the favorite favo-rite to win the state championship. champion-ship. Rocky Mountain showed a lot of depth and consistency in the meet. The Saltos Stacey Green placed on all four events, w hich were (5th vault, 5lh bars, 9th beam, 5th floor) good enough for a sixth place finish in the all-around. BEVERLY Snell placed third on beam. 4th on bars and 7th on floor placing 8th in the all-around, having trouble on vaulting. Ceri Conkle placed 4th on vault and 10th on bars, and Neisha Green recovering from a knee injury placed 6th on bars, the only event she entered. |
