SETTLEMENT results ondemnation action by perty owners, Lewis - jHansen. which was in day of hearincs. when I ' the two parties agreed to a compromised settlement. Davis County had one appraisal on the half-acre of land for $33,000. The Hansens had two appraisals -- one for $104,000 and the other for $13:. 000. THE DIFFERENCE in the appraisals, it was explained, was apparent because of the unique aspects of the land's value in terms of w ildlife and vegetation. Also, it was noted the road discloses a full view of the home whereby the home had previously been secluded. Mrs. Hansen said she and her husband were satisfied with the compromised settlement settle-ment and with the manner in which the settlement was reached. Commissioner Glen E. Saunders said he, too, felt the settlement was fair in view of the environmental aspects involved. "THE PROPERTY has been in the family for many years and we knew that some day population would move into this once secluded area and change the environment," commented Mrs. Hansen, grb |
