Show Stable Wicker Dies At 87 Stable Ira Bryant Wicker, born in Chatham County, North Carolina on March 10, 1896, died at his home at 25 1 I v. 500 S., in Bountiful, on March 15, 1983 at the age of 87. MR. WICKER had been a resident of Bountiful since 1904, when his family moved there from North Carolina as converts to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mr. Wicker was a member of the second class to be graduated from Davis High School in Kaysville. On March I, 1917 he married mar-ried Reva Lldredge Fackrell in San Diego, Calif. They are parents pa-rents of three children; (Mrs. Peter Freed (Cristic) Eldredg-e; Eldredg-e; Salt Lake City; Stanley Stable, New York City, New York; Wesley Carl, Los Angeles, Calif. Mr. Wicker has 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. MR. WICKER'S occupation occupa-tion has been in farming and fruit growing. His civic activities activi-ties have included many years of active work in the Davis County Cancer Society Drives. For this long and devoted de-voted service, he was given a special award by the American Cancer Society, recognizing I 7 r " 1 f 4 STAIILE WICKER his contribution. He served as a two-year councilman for Bountiful City, and was one of those responsible responsi-ble for bringing municipal power to Bountiful. For a number num-ber of years, Mr. Wicker was a member of the Bountiful Lion's Club. HE HAS been a long-time member of the Bountiful Rotary Rot-ary Club, acting as treasurer and membership chairman lor a period of ten years. As a senior member of that organization, organi-zation, he achieved a 25 year record of perfect attendance. Always active in his church, Mr. Wicker served in the Bountiful 2nd Ward bishopric as a second counselor for six years. From 1955-1957 Mr. and Mrs. Wicker served in Nauvoo, III. on a mission for the LDS Church. While there, they were at the John Taylor Home and at the Bureau of Information. In-formation. To the time of his death, Mr. Wicker was active in the 21st Ward in Bountiful, serving as a home teacher as well. IN ADDITION to his children chil-dren and grandchildren, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Zelma Duffin, Bountiful and a large number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were Friday Fri-day at noon in the Bountiful 21st Ward Chapel. INTERMENT Bountiful Memorial Park under direction of Lindquist Bountiful Mortuary. Mor-tuary.
