The Rhythm Company performed two routines with flag batons, hoop "The Rhythm Company" won top honors at statewide baton competition compe-tition held recently in Orem. Screeching shouts of joy came from The Rhythm Company as they received two beautiful trophies for first place Junior team (10-12 age div.) and first place senior team, ( 1 3 and over age division). AFTER THE team trophies were given the individual baton competition betan. It ran until 11:30 p.m. but the Rhythm Company left at 2 and traveled back to Viewmont High in Bountiful for the Jr. Miss Utah Drill Team Festival. They joined other members of the Rhythm Co. from Morgan and performed two numbers in drill. They received two high placing plaques "Excellent" and "Outstanding." "It was a thrilling day for us. Winning helped us cope with a few problems we had like our car stalling on the freeway, running out of gas, our lead twirler breaking her leg, flag batons left in Orem, etc., just a few 'behind the scene pressures'," press-ures'," Julie Webb, their director, remarked.
