Show Golf Cart Storage OK BOUNTIFUL -- U.S. Construction Company Com-pany was low bidder for the construction of a reinforced concrete underground golf cart storage stor-age building. IRONICALLY, THE building will be built into the hillside on the east side of the Bountiful Golf Course Clubhouse -- right under the teeoff area for Hole No. 1. The low bid, from among 27 bidders, was for $44,765. This bid was a little more than $15,000 under the estimated cost of the building ($60,000) which had been budgeted as the engineer's en-gineer's estimate. Also included in the project are two retaining walls on two sides of the building. U.S. CONSTRUCTION was also low bidder on the rock walls, an additional $4,725, for a total bid of $49,490. "Since this is about $10,000 below the estimated esti-mated cost of the project, including the walls, I would suggest that the council approve putting rock facing on the building to better fit in with the decor of the area, including the clubhouse," City Engineer Jack Balling told the council. HE SAID the rock facing is estimated to cost $5,000, leaving the project still below the original origin-al estimate. The council agreed. |
