Show Fred Roe Retires Fred Roe, vice president and general manager of Chem-central Chem-central in Woods Cross, has announced his retirement effective April 1. FRED HAS been managing the local branch for 17': years beginning in July, 1965. Prior to that time he was a salesman for the company, calling in the Intermountain Area, for eight years. Chemcentral is a national distributing company of solvent sol-vent and chemical raw materials mate-rials for industry, with branches bran-ches in 36 cities of the United States, Canada and Mexico. Fred supervised the construction construc-tion of the warehouse and office for the company in 1967. Since that time he has been involved in-volved as a technical sales consultant con-sultant in the development and growth of many of the basic industries of the area. In addition addi-tion to this he has been responsible respon-sible for overall management of the plant and personel. This included the operation of the local storage tank terminal, packaging facilities and fleet of trucks located in Woods Cross. FRED WAS born in Jacksonville, Jack-sonville, 111. and attended r - i I FRED ROE school in St. Louis, Mo. including in-cluding Washington University. Universi-ty. He spent six years in the U.S. Air Force including World War II. His work experience prior to Chemcentral included sales experience with General Electric Elec-tric and Monsanto Chemical Co. He is married to the former Ebba Lubeck of Salt Lake City. They have one son, Lynn F. Roe who lives in Wellsville Utah with his wife and two children. Fred and Ebba have lived in Bountiful for 16 years FRED HAS been active in the Bountiful Area Chamber of Commerce and was on the Board of Directors for tw0 years. He has also been an active ac-tive member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many posj. tions over the years. He has been a tour host on Temple Square for four years. In his retirement he will continue that assignment. He will also be assuming a new duty with the new LDS Historical Museum to be opened in June 1983. This will afford him a continued life, long interest in Western American Amer-ican history which has led him into travel and research regarding re-garding this subject. IN THE meantime William F. Bellamy will assume the position of branch manager for Chemcentral. He has been the office manager in the Woods Cross branch for five years. He will be heading plans for a retirement party made up of employees and former associates associ-ates of Fred at the Red Flame Restaurant on April 1. |
