HARRY K. THAW Harry K. Thaw escaped from the asylum at Matteawan only to be captured cap-tured and Jailed In Canada. exhibited what he claimed to be transportation trans-portation to Detroit In support of bis claim, and cited the case of Jack Johnson John-son to bear out his contention that he cannot be sent back to the United States by the Canadian authorities as long aa he Is simply passing tbrotrsb. Thaw came into the dominion from New Hampshire, however, and if custom cus-tom Is followed, be would go back to New Hampshire. Two men were arrested with Thaw, but liberated at Coatlcook. They are believed to be confederates who aided Thaw in his escape. The two men refused to give their names or say anything about tnemselves. There Is every Indication that Thaw Intends to wage a bitter fibt against extradition, deportation, or both.
