Show T-bird Thinclads enter Pueblo Meet The Southern Utah State College track team will be idle this week after running away with the team championship of its own invitational last week. Coach Steve Lunt's squad will be back in action May 6 in Pueblo, Colorado, at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference meet. Scoring 100 points, SUSC easily outscored Snow (32), College of Eastern Utah (28), and Dixie (28). Standouts for SUSC were Jim Kearns (1st steeplechase, 2nd 880),. Joe Wells (1st javelin, 2nd shot put), John Russo (1st long jump. 2nd triple jump) and Steve Schoell (1st 880, 2nd 220). Other first places went to Don Smith (shot put, 49-lOVfe), 49-lOVfe), Greg McDonald (high hurdles, 14.99), Manuel Deason (440, 51.3), Richard Adams (three mile, 14.04), Marc Broadway (triple jump, 47-612), Frank Scott (intermediate hurdles, 56:28), and the mile relay team (3:29). In all, the T-Birds captured cap-tured 11 of 18 first places. |
