Th e SUSC dance group, the Ballroom Boogies, meets each Thursday evening from 8 to 9 p. m. in the SUSC Large Ballroom. Everyone 18 and over is invited to join the group at no cost. Ballroom Dancing at SUSC Do you v ant to fox trot, (jitterbug), waltz, rumba, cha-cha, s amba, tango or two-step? If so, join the Southern I Hah State College Ballroom Boogies, a group of dancer s who meet every Thursday evening between 8 and 9 p.m. in the SUSC Large Fallroom. "Then; is no admission charged and everyone over 18 years of age is welcome to join ijs," Todd Pearson, Richfield, publicity coordinator coor-dinator for the group, said. The class instructor is Tony Johnson, former dance instructor at Brigham Young University. "Some people in the group have had lots of dance experience; ex-perience; others haven't had any," Pearson said. "It's the type bf class where everyone can progress at their own rate and where nobody gets embarrassed." The Ballroom Boogies group was initiated by ASSUSC Senator Janice Bickmore, Cedar City. Upwards of 50 couples have attended the Thursday evening sessions since the program was started earlier in the school year. "Right now we're into ballroom dancing," Pearson said. "However, if the group wants to learn other types of dancing it can be arranged." |
