Show Brian Head Manager Resigns Describing the town council's decision to give tentative approval to the Brianwood development as the "pinnacle" of his reasons, Brian Head! Town manager-planner Wayne Iverson announced his decision to resign this week. Iverson indicated the Brianwood development decisiion was a "turning point" for the town. The decision facing the council, he explained, was one of "planned, orderly, controlled growth, versus haphazard growth like we have had in the past. And they have chosen the course that could cause more of the problems we already have." Iverson indicated he would continue as manager until the end of May. The major decisions and problems facing the resort town, he indicated are water and sewer. He said he believes there is not enough water presently to accommodate the 120-plus 120-plus unit Brianwood. A master plan, worked on by Iverson and J. Johnson Assoc., stated they believed there was adequate land available fore development without harming the present meadow area, the edge of which would accomodate ac-comodate Brianwood. The firm warned against being unreasonably restrictive but said if residents are concerned about the meadow, they should look to the long-term ramifications of approving Brian-wood. Brian-wood. Iverson also pointed to a survey of property owners who indicated they preferred to preserve the Meadow. Other city officials in favor of the development state the survey is outdated. They also point to the lack of other opposition to the development. |
