Show Parowan High Drama Dept. accorded Honors PAROWAN - The Parowan High School Drama Department, under the direction of Reed Lynn Turner, fared well at the recent Region Drama and Interpretation Meet held at the Dixie College. Daryl Jones, again captured cap-tured the honor of Best Actor; he and his co-acress, Miss Carolyn White will compete on the state level with their play "Sex does not a Marriage Make. The rules for entry into the State Forensic Meet limit 9 entrants from each region in each department and only 3 from any one school in each department may participate. par-ticipate. Parowan High School has three contestants qualifying in Regold Story: Jerry Patterson, Scott Adams (Superior rating) and Sydnee Stevens, alternate, Gordon Gurr; three qualifying in Dramatic Reading: April Evans," Lanette Gurr, Beverly Robinson, alternate, Nicole Adams; three groups in scenes from plays: Holly Dalton, Stan Benson, Carl . Carl Barton, Tood Robinson-(Superior Robinson-(Superior rating), Bret Matheson, Laura Lee Bryant, alternate, Kay Dell Orton, Natalie Van Nest; two students qualifying in pantomime: Rocky Patterson Pat-terson and Steve Decker; Trent Borden qualified as an alternate in Humorous Reading and Chad Hulet received a Superior Rating which qualified him to go in the monoacting section. Wendy Stubbs also received a Superior Rating in Monoacting, but due to others with higher scores, she was disqualified from State. The school commended com-mended Wendy, a senior, on this achievement. |
