Show susc Industrial Education Day Students from over 30 Utah, Arizona and Nevada junior and senior high schools will be on the Southern Utah State College campus May 2 for Industrial Education Day. "We anticipate that between 800 and 1,000 students will take part in the day's activities," Steve Taylor, Chairman of the SUSC Department of Industrial In-dustrial Education, said. While on campus the students will exhibit craftsmanship craft-smanship projects they've completed at their respective schools during the year and will compete in a wide variety of on-campus vocational contests. The public is invited to visit the SUSC War Memorial Fieldhouse between bet-ween 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to view projects which have been completed by the students. "I.E. Day has been conducted con-ducted by SUSC for over 40 years to provide an opportunity op-portunity for students and teachers with common interests in-terests to get together socially and professionally. It is also a chance to make the public aware of the results of industrial education programs in young people's lives," Dr. Taylor said. Kenneth S. Munford, chairman of Industrial Education Day, said that vocational contests will include arc and oxy-acetylene oxy-acetylene welding, drafting, woodworking, electronics, mechanical and architectural ar-chitectural drafting, automotive trouble shooting, machine tool, sheet metal, graphic arts, and vocational carpentry. "This year silver-smithing has been added to the list of contests," Munford said. "The jewelry-making contests will be held for both senior and junior high entrants." en-trants."
