Show Romney to address UAW Meet y- i:. . MMNMaWMi Mrs. Lenor Romney will be the featured guest speaker at the first annual meeting of the Utah Assocation of Women (UAW). A two-day meeting scheduled for April 28 and 29 at the Salt Palace is open to membership and invited guests. Mrs. Romney has been tremendously active in political and civic affairs and was rated by the Associated Press as one of the nation's top ten women news makers in 1970. Wife of former Governor George Romney, she is the recipient of countless awards and honors. Mrs. Romney has received six different honorary doctorate degrees. She is a past national director of the YWCA, former national director of American Field Services, former national chairman of the executive committee of the National Center for voluntary action, and in 1970, she was a candidate for the United States Senate. Mrs. Romney will speak at the banquet on Friday night of the UAW Conference (April 28) at 7:00 p.m. at the Salt Palace. The conference will feature six workshops, including in-cluding a workshop on women and the law will be led by Chief Swen Nelson of the Provo Police Department, Depart-ment, Mrs. Anne Leavitt and Mrs. Jaynann Payne. "Life Before Life" is the title of the workshop dealing with the abortion issue and it will be presented by Mrs. Deanne Francis (an obstetrical ob-stetrical nurse) and Dr. Kent Gamett. LENOR RONMEY |
