Show Faculty Studies Candidates For Annual Avard Faculty members at College of Southern Utah are voting this week on their choice of two students stu-dents to receive the annual Citizenship Cit-izenship Award, the highest recognition rec-ognition accorded students of the college for non-academic activities. ac-tivities. One man and one woman from the graduating classes are selected se-lected for thr award. Either candidate can-didate may be from the seniors, receiving the bachelor of science degree, or from the graduating sophomores receiving the associate asso-ciate in science diploma. Candidates are selected on the basis of their contributions to community life on the campus. The citation reads in part, that the award Is made to that student stu-dent who, "during the years spent at this college has been judged by the Committee of Awards and Honors to be one who, because of personal integrity, integ-rity, ability as a student, patriotism patrio-tism as a student, and qualities of leadership as manifested in relations with fellow students, shows marked evidence of being able to repay the investment his country has made in him." Presentation of the award will be made by D. L. Sargent, Professor Pro-fessor Emeritus of Biological Science? at the commencement exercises. All other awards to students will be made at the awards convocation Sunday, May 22 at the L D S Institute. Commencement Com-mencement will be Friday, May 27 at 8 p.m. in the CSU Auditorium, Auditor-ium, and will be combined with ceremonies installing Dr. Royden C. Braithwaite as eleventh director dir-ector of CSU. |
