Show Lions Elect Neeley as President An impressive Mother's Day program and an election of officers offi-cers for the Lions Club of Cedar City were combined at a meeting of Lions and their wives, held at Hotel El Escalante Mondav eve- ning. Herschel Neeley, local grocer, was named as president of the civic group for the coming year. Other officers elected to serve with him were: D. C. Schmutz. first vice president; Haze Hunter, second vice president; Ren Taylor, Tay-lor, third vice president; G. D. MacDonald, tail twister; Gaylord Whitney, lion tamer, and Tony Lambert and Carlyle Mitchell to the board of directors. Durham Morris and Mrs. Doe Cowan were speakers for the evening eve-ning and all mothers and wives In attendance were given special tribute during the evening. Musical Musi-cal numbers were given bv i quartet composed of Mr. and Mrs. Gam Seegmiller end Mr. and Mrs. Howard Wood. Ralph Hafen also rendered a vocal solo dur-in dur-in the evening. . Installation of newly elected officers will not take place until un-til after July 1, according to Ray Lindquist, incumbent president of the organization. Sample ballots were distributed distribut-ed to the membership two weeks in advance of the election and official balloting did not take place until Monday evening. |
