Show College Scholarship Committee Studies Appications Applications from high school seniors in the southern Utah area for scholarships and activity awards from the College of Southern Utah are being considered, consid-ered, and selection of recipients will be announced within a few days, according to A. W. Stephenson, Stephen-son, chairman of the awards and scholarship committee. Besides scholarships for students stu-dents who have achieved a high level of efficiency in academic classes, activity awards are made for excellence and achievement In athletics, student leadership publications, drama, radio and music. Scholarships and activity awards entitle a student to attend at-tend CSU tuition free. The tuition tui-tion charge for next year will be $75 for the year, tha minimum set by the state legislature at Its last session. In addition to the scholarships and activity awards from the college, col-lege, a number of civic groups and business firrrts are also offering of-fering scholarships for worthy students wishing to attend CSU. Some of the recipients are selected se-lected by the donors, and some are selected upon the recommendation recommen-dation of high school principals and Instructors. Scholarships for students who have attended C S U for one year or more are also provided by business firms and organizations. Recipients of these awards and honors will be announced at thef annual convocation at the L D S Institute May 22, Professor Stephenson Ste-phenson said. |
