Show Final Drama Offering Prepared by Play Production Class The final drama of the year at College of Southern Utah will be the hilarious three act comedy "Arsenic and Old Lace," to be presented May 20-21. "After such serious productions as the Greek plays," said Prof. Richard M. Rowley, director of the coming production, "what we need is a rip-roaring comedy, and that Is what we have in this show." The story concerns two sweet old ladies who have a knack of mixing things includ-' lng arsenic, cyanide, strychnine, and wine. Portraying the two ladies will be Betty Taylor, Cedar City, and Mary Jane Okerlund, Loa, as Ab-by, Ab-by, with Carol Williams, Cedar City and Mona Rae Hall, Hurricane, Hur-ricane, as Martha. The part of Elaine, the fiancee of Mortimer Brewster, who is a nephew of the two old ladies, will be doubled dou-bled cast also, with LaRue Dalley, Summit, and Sonya Nielson, Monroe, playing the role on alternate al-ternate nights. Men In the cast Include Lloyd DeMille, John Davis and Scott Jones, Cedar City; Keith Tatter-sail Tatter-sail and Dan Smith, Beaver; Steve Rozelle, Springdale, Chester Thomas, Hurricane; Dale Workman, Work-man, Delta; Kelland Terry, Rock-ville. Rock-ville. Rehearsals are underway on the show, and plans are also going go-ing forward on a very unusual setting. Chester Thomas Is in charge of scenery. Sherma Ann Huntington and Evva Joan Pry-or Pry-or are in charge of promotions and publicity. |
