Show Trailways bus blown off west Highway 40 High winds and drifing snow were contributing factors when a Continental Trailways bus careened off U.S. 40 west of Vernal and crashed into a drainage ditch. The accident was Thursday of last week at 2:05 p.m., according to David H. Jacobsen, Utah Highway Patrol. Rescuers had to pry open the bus door with a crowbar to free the occupants, oc-cupants, but only the driver and one of the seven passengers suffered minor injuries. They uere treated in Uintah County Hospital in Vernal and released. The bus was about U miles west of Vernal, traveling east uhen it plunged down the nght embankment, driver of the bus was U-roy Renfro, Salt Lake City. Damage to the bus, which remained upright, was estimated at $5.0 j. |
