Show :af Smorgasbord dinner honors visitors L VERNAL SPECIAL A smorgasbord I dinner party was held at the home of II Newel and Marion A. Behunin Saturday '? night in honor of Les and Juanita li Behunin of Hemite, California. Les and Juanita are parents of Buddy Merrill, e who was with Lawrence Welk for 19 19 years. The Behunins reported Buddy is in Reno, for a 2-week engagement with Joan Castle, who was also with the it Welk band for a number of years, w During the evening Newell, Les and & Earl Goodrich entertained guests with j'soflgs OP the past.- This was the' first time the three had played together p? since 1933. as Guests were: Dick and Betty Jean !E' Ufford, Jim and Vida Clark, Morris and ft Erma Carter, Bryant and Marcella Roper, Melba Sargent, Mamie Gold-ston, Gold-ston, Harold and Nelda Cook, Hilliary and Ruby Workman, Shirley and Evelyn Slaugh and Maude Goodrich. Attending from Jensen were: Dee and Ora Curfew, Julian and Ellen Massey, Ewell and Lila Edwards and Thure and Lillian Carlson of Roosevelt. Les and Jaunita left Sunday for Torrey, Utah, where they will visit before returning to their home. Les has a country and western band in Hemite. |
