Show Ballard i I Telintha Rasmussen I Phone 722-4875 Birthday celebrations held Feb. 5 Dorothy Kettle, Marie Burkman and Telintha Rasmussen had birthdays Feb. 5. A birthday dinner for Dorothy was held at her home with her family there. Marie's mother, Beatrice Lundberg, had a dinner for Marie and her family with two special guests, Mrs. Jan Winn and Earl Winn. A family dinner for Telintha was held at the Heber and Ruth Rasmussen home. Calrence Rich has .bought 1 acre of ground from Frank McClure, just south of Ballard church on the west side of the road. Clarence plans on moving a house there. Golden Collins has returned to Ballard and is staying with his daughter, Myrtle Cook. He has been staying in Payson with his daughter, Kay Frisby, for several months. His son, Allan, brought him home. Mr. and Mrs. Buzz Larson's daughter Laraine and husband, Larry Crowl, from Yecea Valley, Calif., are moving back to the Basin. Larry has a job with the Uintah County Sheriff's Office in Vernal. The Crowls have 2 children. February 10 to 23 will be the Primary Penny by the inch drive. Be ready with your contributions. Last Sunday evening at the Fred Cook home a fireside was held for the High Priests and their partners. Beatrice Lundberg, and Mr. and Mrs. Zane gave a book report on the life of Spencer W. Kimball, refreshments were served. About 22 attended. Last week, Mrs. Jay Winn and son, Jason, from Salt Lake City and father-in-law, Earl Winn, from Riverside, Calif., visited at the Beatrice Lundberg home. Earl also visited his mother, Esther Winn and an Aunt, Mrs. Mann, Vernal. Earl had come to Utah to see his new grandchild blessed and named last Fast Sunday in Provo, Parents are Mr. and Mrs. Roy (Ladonna) Peter-man. Mr. and Mrs. Neal Domgaard spent last week in St. George, where Neal attended the Association of County Officers Convention. They also visited their daughter, Linda, who is attending Dixie College. February 22, the budget supper for Ballard Ward will be held. Be sure and bring your eating utensils. Marie Burkman and Beatrice Lundberg Lund-berg were in Salt Lake City last week to see Crystal White baptized. She is Beatrice's granddaughter. February 8 the Primary Sweetheart ball was held in Ballard Ward for the teachers and officers and their partners part-ners also the Bishopric was invited. Supper was served, a drawing for a stuffed valentine puppy was held, with La Von Anderson winning. The newly-wed newly-wed game was played. About 40 people attended. Those in charge were president Ranee Womack, first councilor, Gerogia Wyasket and Marie Burkamn second councilor. Clark Eldridge, who is working for the Uintah Basin Engineers of Vernal is in Nephi for a short while working. Last week, the Daddy-Daughter Date, which was the King's Ball, was held in Ballard Ward. A delicious dinner was served. Syline Accuttoroop made kings and castles for table decorations. There was a program and dancing. The fathers learned to disco and the daughters learned to waltz. About 44 attended. On February 5 at the Dry Gulch meeting, Fred Cook was elected director over Class E. He has taken the place of Oran Cook. |
