Show Window shootfirags dsmigje Vernal store buildings About $3,200 in windows of Vernal merchants were shot out this week by unknown persons, reported Sgt. Robert Downard, Vernal City Police. Sometime during the night of Feb. 7 an unknown person shot two holes in the front window of the Utah State Liquor Store. Damage to the windows was listed at $500. Utah Motor Co. reported that someone so-meone shot holes in their front windows during the night of Feb. 8 causing $2, 100 in damages. Six holes were shot in front windows of the Hasty Pawn Shop during the night of Feb. 4. Damages were listed at $600. In other incidents, on Feb. 7 an attempt at-tempt was made to steal the fiberglass horse on top of the D Bar T Western Wear store, and Mike Kenney reported a stolen seat and horn cover. The only traffic accidents released by Vernal City Police are on Feb. 10 and 11. Feb. 10 Gene McFarland, 59, was northbound on 257 S. 500 W. and struck a pile of snow and then struck a parked vehicle. Total damages were $3,000, and McFarland was cited with driving under the influence of alcohol. Feo. 11 Curtis L. McKinnon, 18, ran the red light at Main and Vernal Ave. and struck a Chevrolet driven by Randy J. Young. McKinnon was cited with failure to stop, and total damages were listed at $300. |
