Show Strawberry Reservoir roads contracted Water and Power Resources Service (formerly Bureau of Reclamation) has awarded a $1.5 million contract for the Straw berry Reservoir Recreation Area of the Central Utah Project, Secretary of the Interior Cecil D. Andrus announced. an-nounced. The contract was awarded to W.W. Clyde & Co., Springville, Utah, based on the company's low bid of $1,454,285. Second and third low bidders were Robert V. Burggraf & Co.; Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Van Staveren Construction, West Jordan. Utah. The engineer's estimate for the work was $1,793,725. Commissioner of Water and Power Resources R. Keith Higginson said the contract calls for construction of recreation roads for Strawberry Bay and East Side Recreation Areas. These areas are located 35 to 45 miles southeast of Heber, and are part of the Bonneville Unit, Central Utah Project. Construction of the roads, expected to take 15 months, will include surfacing 2 6 miles of new road, and regrading and surfacing 6.2 miles of existing road. Other work will include constructing a concrete boat ramp, and furnishing and installing about 3,000 feet of water and pressure sewer pipe. |
