Traffic caution issued in logging area In the interest of public safety Bob Meinrod, Flaming Gorge Area Ranger, has issued a warning of extremely hazardous traffic and road conditions which exist on the Birch Creek Road between Hickerson Park and Birch Creek. Ranger Meinrod stated that active logging traffic, ice and snow, steep gradients and narrow roads combine to create conditions which the public should be aware of. Public travel on this road section is strongly discouraged Monday through Friday. Each driver should realize the difficulty dif-ficulty of stopping a fully loaded logging truck, headed downhill under such conditions. Logging operations will be suspended on weekends, therefore, logging traffic will be absent Saturdays and Sundays. Mr. Meinrod feels this alert and the absence of weekend logging traffic will provide continued public safety, if responsible driving precautions are exercised during weekends. N
