They were gone :' over two weeks, traveling and sighLsec-ing -" through 10 states en route to Anniston, Alabama, to visit their son, Robert, his ' ; wife, Melody, and their four children. ,J u ; u,. a xic is d cupidin in me rtimy, d career security officer in the Intelligence ' Division, stationed at Fort McClellan. .! On their return trip the Abegglens visited in Vicksburg, Mississippi, the scene of great Civil War battles, and L'J through many other interesting and historic places. They drive back to -q Mesa, Arizona, and visited there with . l Edgar and Erma Calder. They jv returned home through Ephriam where their daughter, Patricia, is a student at - :A Snow College. Mr. Harold Schruz who underwent ' open heart surgery November 29 in Salt j Lake City, is doing well and expected to . be able to come home Monday. ; Mr. and Mrs. Bryant L. Brady were in Provo last Tuesday through Thur- - sday where he attended meetings for - the Soil Conservation Service. .; While there they also visited their - son, Richard, and his wife. They visited Bryant's father in Fairview, and the .1 two men went on to Nevada to meet a brother from California. They returned to Vernal Saturrlav , Lois Hurrocks went to Salt Lake Saturday to visit her husband in the hospital. LaVon was released Sunday morning and she brought him horr.e ; - where he will be convalescing for the next few weeks. Mr. and Mrs. James Bowden and family of Boise, Idaho, visited in Vernal recently at the home of his parents. Mr. -. j and Mrs. Alvin Bowden. James is . , , assistant treasurer for Morrison- ,,, Knudsen Construction Company. Since he had to fly to Boston on business for his firm, his wife, Jane, and their three ;. children spent a week here while he was back East. Mr. and Mrs. Dayl Webb were out of : .-; town a few days recently to attend the . funeral of her father. David Barthlome, in Thatcher, Idaho. They also visited in j .Preston with DayTs mother, Mrs. lone , ic Merrill. .... Mr. and Mrs. Brent Hatch and four children visited Wednesday with his parentsv Mr. and Mrs. Wayne , Goodrich, Wednesday and Thursday. i,, They returned to their home in Grand Junction Thursday evening. . . Lloyd Goodrich sustained an injury in a mine accident at Bonanza last week when a large falling rock struck his shoulder and arm. He was taken to a ' ''' Salt Lake City hospital, but has been released and is now recuperating at home. ;. Mrs. Anthony (Susan) Famulary and ' daughter, Bethany, left Wednesday by ' plane for New Jersey. She will be met there by her husband who has a com- ' -mission as captain in the Air Force. "-- They will spend the holidays with his parents there, and then go to Alabama ' where he will have a 7-week training i: c period, after which he will be stationed --:2 in Maine. Susan is a daughter of Mark and Fern Oberhansly of Neola, a ' granddaughter of Mrs. Frances Money . of Spanish Fork, and a niece of Mrs. :.q Lyle Anderson of Vernal. ;.,t Mr. and Mrs. Kirk Bowden are moving this week into their new home ' on Robinwood Lane. : Gary Huber, Duayne Merrill and :' other students at the College of Eastern ' Utah in Price came home for the ' weekend to hear two missionaries report Sunday, Garth Allred in Vernal 7th Ward and John Jacobsen in Vernal 8th Ward. The students went back to -school to finish the last week in this term. They will be home about j.0 December 14 for the holidays. , Mr. and Mrs. Gary Taylor were in :!. Provo Saturday and Sunday for Gary to attend a regional welfare meeting. He has been made executive secretary of the Welfare Council. While there he and Shanna visited their daughter, Tammy, who is a student at Trade Tech, and also their daughter, Mrs. Tim (Becky) Branscomb and family. They returned Sunday night and brought their little grandson, Nicholas Branscomb, home with them for a visit. |
