The school was presented $100 by Zion's Bank for the decorations. Ashley students decorate Zion's Christmas tree Close to 400 people attended the annual lights on party at Zion's First National Bank in Vernal on December 5. One hundred dollars was paid to Ashley Elementary by Zion's Bank for 400 Christmas tree decorations. Each decoration was worth $ .25 and they were handmade by the students. Third and fourth graders from Ashley Elementary, under the direction of LaRue Ab-planalp, Ab-planalp, Debra Ramsey, Vernie Heeney, JoAnn Hardy, David Rust and Elinor Rust, sang Christmas songs to the packed crowd. Santa Claus made a special visit to the bank. He talked to the children, and gave them each a special treat.
