Three Uintah footballers are named to team Three Uintah Utes were named to the Deseret News' teams in Region Seven. Brent Labrum, a nose guard, was placed on the first team in the 3-A's Region Seven. Dave Stone, a defensive end and tight end, and Kay Smuin, quarterback, were named to the second team in Region Seven. Union's Kary Eldredge, a defensive back was placed on the Deseret News' Class 2-A all-state team. Eldredge was also a running back during the past football season. John Brown of Union, a running back, was placed on the 2-A second team. James Bailey, Mike Stewart and Tracy Nielsen, Union, were selected to the first team in Region Nine. Altamont and Duchesne footballers named to Region Ten teams were: first team, Steve Hanke, Mark Birch, Altamont; Joe Naico, Tom Graham Todd Wilkinson, Duchesne; second team Kevin Workman Jimmy Lisonbee, Duchesne; Steve Daniels, Mike Allred, Altamont. Kary Eldredge and James Bailey of Union were named to the Salt Lake Tribune's Class 2-A all state team. Mike Stewart and John Brown, Union, were placed on the second team.
