GENE (RACHEL) KIRK will celebrate their wedding wed-ding anniversary with a family dinner on December 20. They j were married 25 years ago in Kansas City, Missouri. j. ( i Mr. and Mrs. Gene Kirk to observe 25th anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Gene (Rachel) Kirk will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary anniver-sary on December 20 with a family dinner din-ner at their home. Both Mr. and Mrs. Kirk are originally from Kansas City, Missouri where they were married in 1954. They are the parents of six children; Mrs. Wade (Deborah) Southam, Salt Lake City ; Douglas, serving a mission in Frankfurt, Germany; Rebecca, a junior at Utah State University; Richard, a junior at Uintah Hieh School; Cynthia, a fourth grade student at Central Elementary School and Jeffrey, Jef-frey, a first grade student at Central Elementary School. The Kirks moved to Vernal seven years ago. Mr. Kirk is currently teaching English at the junior high school and also teaches for the Utah State University Extension Service. Mrs. Kirk is employed at Day's Thrift-way. Thrift-way. Mr. Kirk attended Brigham Young University from 1962-65 where he received his B.A. degree. He attended Western Illinois University from '1965-66 where he earned his M A. degree and from there he 'weht'to' Southeastern Louisiana University, Hammond, Louisiana Loui-siana where he taught for two years. He attended one year at the University of 'i Utah doing doctoral work and then moved with his family to New Zealand, i where he was head of the Language Arts Department for the Church College Col-lege of New Zealand.
