Show I KANARRAVILLE NEWS NOTES I Mrs. Carma Williams Melvin Wayne Scott claimed Cheryl Williams as his bride Saturday, Sat-urday, June 27, in a ceremony performed by Bp. Arthur F. Coombs of Las Vegas. The marriage was performed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Hayes, uncle and aunt of the bride. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Williams and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Scott of Daicy, Washington. Traveling to Las Vegas to attend the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Ross Williams and son, B. N.; Chesley Williams and Mr. and Mrs. Reed Williams. Visiting this week with Mrs. Rosella Christensen were her son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Layne Christensen of Henderson, Nev. Mr. and Mrs. Evan Reeves and daughters of Las Vegas spent the week end here visiting their parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Reeves. Wednesday, June 24, 32 ladies met at the recreation hall to honor hon-or Miss Cheryl Williams, bride-to-be at a personal shower prior to her marriage, June 27. Hostesses Hos-tesses for the occasion were Miss Hanna Davis and Leslie Cornelius. Cornel-ius. Everyone enjoyed an evening even-ing of games and favors for all. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Loops and daughter Norma from Jerome, Arizona, were here over the week end to visit their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmle Loops, who were recently mar ried. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Glade Berry were their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Gaylen Berry of Cedar City. Also Mr. and Mrs. Dwlght Blackburn and family fam-ily from Henderson, Nevada. Vern J. and Markay Williams of Henderson, Nev., are here visiting vis-iting a few days with their sister sis-ter and family, the Jerry Isoms. Russell Williams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Williams, was rushed to the Valley View medical medi-cal Center Friday for an appendicitis appen-dicitis operation. Cornell Christensen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Christensen, Christen-sen, is on a minor league baseball base-ball team in Cedar City, He is a pitcher for the Cardinal team. Mrs. Hazel Davies traveled to St. George Saturday. She was accompanied ac-companied on her return by her mother, Mrs. Rocena Blake of Si. George. Phoebe Davies spent Sunday in Cedar City as a guest of Lizzie Davis. Spending the week end at the home of Ethna Williams were some of her children, grandchild-'fnd grandchild-'fnd and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Terry Williams of Logan, Mr. and Mrs. David Williams of Provo, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Peterson and children of Las Vegas, and Gregory, Gre-gory, Mark and Paula Pollock of Cedar City. Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs. Rowan Williams and family entertained all of them at a barbeque supper on their ranch at Kanarra Mountain. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Williams and girls were Dell Hastings and children of Las Vegas, Mrs. Ruby Leavitt of St, George and Clark Hastings ol Las Vegas. ft. James Dale Cornelius, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Cornelius, is home on leave after completing complet-ing his basic training at Fort Ord, Calf. He will go on to Fori Sill, Oklahoma in ten days. Visitors at the Willard Wil liams home were M:. and Mrs Allen Harris and sons, Garr and Larry, Mr. and Mrs. Marie Salvagni, Jesse Lynn Prisbrey nephew of Mrs. Williams; Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Prisbrey and family. Miss Leslie Cornelius spent I Monday In St. George visiting' her twin sister, Lynn. i Howard Hawkins, son of Mrs.' Lo Ella Hawkins, is here from I his navy base to spend a week then he will go to Georgia for some special navy schooling. Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Robinson enjoyed a visit from some of their children, Mr and Mrs. Ro bert Brooks and lamlly of Los Angeles, and their granddaughter, granddaugh-ter, Mary Lynn Robinson of Lay-ton, Lay-ton, Utah. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. George Munford and family were Warren Munford, Cedar City; Lois Mc- Connell and son, Richard, Billy! Munford, Henderson. Mr. and Mrs. Harris Gubler and son, Joe, and daughter, Ranae Humpheries were visitors in town last week. Carl Smith, Jack Christensen and Leon Reeves spent Sunday at Glen Canyon Dam and Page Arizona. George Munford is in the Valley Val-ley View Medical Center where he underwent major surgery last Tuesday. I Richard Woodbury traveled to Las Vegas over the week end with his brother and wife, Clair and Freida Woodbury. Visiting Mrs. Mabel Williams were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Dalton and family of Parowan, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Morgan and son and I Mrs. Irene Morgan of Las Vegas. Miss Alice Piatt has returned home after a month's visit in I northern Utah with her sisters and brothers and their families. Mr. and Mrs. Lysle Piatt enjoyed en-joyed a visit from some of their children, Mr. and Mrs. Reeve Chidester and sons of Salt Lake City, and Mr. and Mrs. Dell Judd and family of Cedar City. Roscoe Williams and brother-in-law, Elmer Muchman from San Bernardino, Calif., visited Friday and Saturday with Ros-coe's Ros-coe's mother, Mollie Williams and sister, Gwen Davis. |
