Show CEDAR CITY SOCIAL SWING Mrs. Virginia Webster I For the past two weeks lone Lambert and Mary MacDonald have been in southern California. Califor-nia. Mrs. MacDonald has been attending at-tending a special school session and Mrs. Lambert has visited with her sister Lola in San Carlos Car-los and with her sister Estelle In San Marino, California. The two ladies are expected back home this week end. Miss DeLynne Woodbury is a guest at the home of her grandmother, grand-mother, Mrs. Ellen Hopkins in Cedar City. Miss Woodbury will be here for the next three weeks. A guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dell V. Bryant is their neice, Miss Sandra Stevens of Holden, Utah. Following Miss Stevens's visit, the Bryants and their daughter will accmopany her home and will visit in Salt Lake City with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Waters. A barbeque was held Sunday evening at the Antone Lambert home for family members. Attending At-tending the outdoor party were Mr. and Mrs. Bert Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Smith and family, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Higbee and son Clay and Mrs. Donnie (Sylvia) (Syl-via) Smith and children. Visiting in Las Vegas recently were Mr. and Mrs. Thornton Jones. While they vacationed in Nevada they were guests of family fam-ily members. The Jones currently have one of their granddaughters visiting with them. June guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Cripps have been Mr. and Mrs. Jerrold Pearce and Mrs. Inga Knudson. Mr. and Mrs. Pearce were here from their home in Las Vegas and brought with them Mrs. Knudson, who makes her home in Tacoma, I Washington. POCAHONTAS CLUB Parlor games, visiting and refreshments re-freshments were features of entertainment en-tertainment at the Pocahontas club sollcal last week. The social in the form of a baby shower, honored Mrs. Phyllis Richards. Thirty-three guests attended the event which was held at the home of lone Bolander. Co-hostesses with Mrs. Bolander were Yetta and Althea Jake and Jean Benn. Two sociology students, Karen Flieshman and Carol Spence, who are attending College Col-lege of Southern Utah from the Sociology department of UCLA, were special guests at the baby shower. In attendance at a Gene Cripps family reunion held in St. George were several Cedar City families, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Cripps, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Cripps, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Cripps and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Cripps. While in St. George, the Richard Cripps family fam-ily also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Pearce. Former Cedar City residents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Norton, were visitors here from Bountiful with Mrs. Norton's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Ned Sargent. The Nortons and their three children spent two days at the Sargent home. Mr .and Mrs. J. A. Jones have as visitors their grandsons, David and Harold Jones, Jr., of El Sobrante, Calif. The two brothers bro-thers will be guests of their grandparents for the duration of the summer. Other guests at the J. A. Jones home this past week have been Dr. Victor Cline along with two of his children, Connie and Russell of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Leo Cahoon entertained members of her Pinochle club June 18th at her home. Prizes were awarded to Florence Crab-tree, Crab-tree, Edna Sargent and Reta Anderson. |
