Show Tight Race Develops Among Older Minor League Teams A tight race has developed in the Minor League baseball program pro-gram conducted by the city recreation rec-reation department, for boys 10, 11 and 12 years of age. The Indians hold a one game lead in the race with a two win and one loss record. Close behind are the Twins with a win and a loss, and the Cubs are in third with one win and two losses. In games during the week the Cubs defeated the Twins 7 to 5 for their first win of the season. Bobby Langford was the winning pitcher and Ricky Carter suffered the loss on the mound for the Twins. The Indians in turn defeated the Cubs by an 8 to 6 margin with Leo Rosenburg as the winning win-ning pitcher. Mike Peterson was the losing pitcher. K. Bladen pitched the Twins to a win over the Indians, 5 to 4 and Larry Eyman suffered the loss. |
