I Royalty to Reign at July 4 Events Royalty has been selected to reign over various events of the Independence Day celebration to be held Saturday, July 4. The Cedar City Lady Lions in a drawing held Saturday, named a King and Queen and attendants attend-ants to reign over the annual miniature parade and the same evening in a special contest held at the Iron Rangers Rodeo arena in Cedar Canyon, royalty was named to reign over the two-day Rodeo and other events of the season. Four and five year old children will have the honors in the forenoon fore-noon for the parade event. Named at a drawing as queen of the parade was petite Jaye Lynn Monsen, four year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Monsen with Michael Dalton, five year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Dalton to reign as king. Candace Blake, five year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Benja-min Blake will be attendant to the queen and the four year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Garrett, John, will attend the king. The royal group will ride the lead float especially prepared by .he Lady Lions for the Miniature Parade. Leading the grand march at the two-day rodeo events sponsored spon-sored by the Iron Rangers will be seventeen year old Pauline Evans daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Evans of Parowan. The petite red head is a junior at Parowan High School where she Is also a 1 , m i r Attending the rodeo queen will be Judy Stratton, 15, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vernal Stratton of Cedar City and Marsha Harrison, 15, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Al-bert Harrison of Newcastle. Both attendants are students at Cedar High School. |
