Show Lids Called for Library-Auditorium at B A C Bids for the Construction of the new library and auditorium at the Branch Agricultural college r01 be opened at the State Capitol Cap-itol on Thursday, Dec. 18, according ac-cording to word released by the State Building board. The board issued a call for bids on Friday, XCor. 26. The architect's plans for the new structure, to cost an estimated esti-mated 5-100,000, were recently approved ap-proved by the board of trustees f the college, and submitted to the building board for action. The new building to be located on the college campus just east of the Old Main building will provide a new and modern library li-brary for the college, in which not only the regular library will be housed, but also the H. Wayne Drlggs Memorial collection. A badly needed auditorium, with a seating capacity of approximately ap-proximately 1000 people, and featuring all the latest equipment equip-ment for play production, concerts con-certs and other functions, will also be Included in the structure. struc-ture. The building was designed by M. E. Harris, Salt Lake architect. A special faculty committe head-ed head-ed by Prof. R. L. Halversen, has conducted exhaustive studies stud-ies of auditorium and library usage, us-age, and made recommendations to the architect as he has prepared pre-pared the plans. |
