Show Bronco Eleven Drops Final Football Game, 25 to 0 The Branch Agricultural college col-lege football team ended its 1952 season Saturday, taking a 25 to 0 trimming in the mud and rain in the first annual Bethlehem Bethle-hem Star bowl game at Van Nuys, Calif. The BronCos went down to defeat before the Los Angeles Valley Junior college team, one of the most powerful Jaycee elevens in the California circuit this year. A heavy downpour of rain almost al-most wrecked the bowl attraction, attrac-tion, although the game was a well-played contest that was much more interesting than the score would Indicate. The Broncos held the powerful L. A. Valley team scoreless In the first period of play, although they were outgalned by the big, hard-charging California team. In the second period, however, the battle against the heavier, superior team In the deepening mud, began to sap the strength of the smaller Broncos and the Californlans pushed over their first score. The Broncos continued to play well throughout the game although al-though the victors pushed over .three touchdowns In the second I half, using power plays along the ground for consistent gains. The members of the Bronco squad remained In the Los Angeles An-geles area over Sunday as the tootball season ended, returning to the home campus Monday and turning in their suits for another season. The game Saturday was probably prob-ably the last one for several of the Bronco players, although there are only two or three who will not be eligible for additional participation at the college. |
