Show I BHC Offers Opportunity for Teachers An excellent opportunity is ai- forded men and women in south- ern Utah who wish to enter the j field of teaching, according to I Dr. Reese P. Maughan, chairman of the division of education at Branch Agricultural college. New courses are being offered at B A C during the winter quarter, quar-ter, beginning next week, which .will enable a student to begin his training toward a degree in education. Those who intend to get a degree at B A C do not need to wait until fall quarter to register. Courses required for the degrees are offered every quarter, and a program can be worked out with the beginning student or with those who wish to continue their work toward graduation, Dr. Maughan pointed point-ed out. There is need in southern Utah for more teachers than our teacher-training institutions can supply, and those students in education at B A C who complete com-plete their training each year are in high demand, the chairman chair-man stated. Every past graduate of B A C who has wished to enter-teaching has been placed in a position. A carefully selected and well-trained well-trained staff of men and women offer practical courses in psychology, psy-chology, education and related fields. There is a complete and fully developed program in the field of elementary education which meets state requirements for certification. Students who do their teacher-training work during dur-ing the latter part of their college col-lege course are under the guidance guid-ance of well trained and experienced experi-enced teachers of the elementary schools of Cedar City and vicinity. vici-nity. These trainees have the dis-tinct dis-tinct advantage of training where schools are not crowded, and without conflict with other student-teachers. Those who intend to begin studies toward the, degree in elementary ele-mentary education should get in touch with Mr. Maughan before registering at the college. |
