Show Sam Holland Advises I Eisenhower on Trip The following wire was sent to President-Elect Dwight D. Eisenhower Eisen-hower on Monday, Dec. 1, by Sam Holland of Cedar City, who frequently expresses a keen appreciation ap-preciation of the privilege of living liv-ing in free America. The telegram tele-gram to Mr. Eisenhower was as follows: President-Elect Dwight D. Eisenhower Hotel Commodore, New York, New York: In my opinion the Chinese communists will plan a big push to recapture Seoul while you are over there. I hope you will tell the U. N. generals in Korea to be ready for the attack. I pray that you may make the trip in safety and return in good health. As one who left his homeland 20 years ago, I am happy that I live in a free country like the United States. SAM HOLLAND Our current hit-run tax system i does not stop to see who has I really been hurt. It produces results re-sults that are cruel, cynical, and dishonest. Undeb the guise of "soaking the'rich" and "soaking the corporations" we have created cre-ated a kind of national shell game by concealing from the public the full cost that each family must pav. I Utah fatalities have increased 25 per cent above the 1951 figure fig-ure for this period, and 48 per cent above the two year average c for 1951 and 1952. |
