Show Parowan Drops One, Wins One Basketball Game Us Season Opens; Plan Trip to Tooele The Parowan high school basketball bas-ketball team opened the current season last week end with two games, one on the home floor with the Panguitch high team, and one at Circleville with the Piute high team, and breaking even in the two games. Friday Coach 'Twist" Jones' Rams dropped a hard-fought , contest to the big smooth work-. work-. Ing Panguitch team by a 50 to 46 score. The rams took an early lead and held it through the first quarter which ended 12 to 8. In the second quarter the visitors went ahead 23 to 21 and were ' ahead 38 to 33 at the three quarter rest. Parowan outscored Its opponent from the field, but lost the game on foul pitching. In Saturday night's game at Circleville the Rams took an early lead and held It to the end to win 50 to 35. The victors held a 16 to 7 lead at the end of the first quarter, were ahead 29 to 17 - at half-time and 39 to 23 at the end of the third quarter rest. Coach Jones used every member of his squad in this game and most of the boys broke into the scoring column. The Parowan high squad is leaving Friday at 9 a. m. for a trip into Tooele county where practice games will be played, one with Tooele high school on Friday night, and one with the Grantsvllle high team on Saturday Satur-day night. The next home game for the Rams will be with the strong Hurricane high team on Friday night Dec. 12. |
