The tourney will pit eight teams from four states in a j three-day series that should pro-jduce pro-jduce some unusually fine games and plenty of excitement. The tournament will open Thursday afternoon and continue through Saturday with four games to be played on each of the four days. The schedule calls for games at 4:00 and 5:30 each afternoon, with an hour's break before the evening sessions open at 8 p. m. with the final game of the day scheduled for 9:30 p. m. Teams participating in the tournament in addition to the B A C Broncos, will be Dixie, Snow and Westminster colleges ot Utah, Compton and Chaffey Junior colleges of California, Ricks college of Idaho and Fort Lewis A & M from Hesperus, Colo. Compton, Westminster, B A C and Fort Lewis have been placed in the top bracket with Snow, Chaffey, Dixie and Ricks playing in the lower bracket. The first day's pairings pits Snow against Chaffey at 4 p. m., Compton against Westminster at 5:30, Dixie Dix-ie vs Ricks at 8 p. m. with BAC meeting Fort Lewis in the final game of the day. The Broncos, with only two games played to date and with two more to be played before the tourney opens, has drawn a tough assignment in its opening game, according to the best information in-formation we have been able to gather about the Colorado team. One of the Colorado players is a man from Chile who played on his country's team in the 1948 Olympics, and indications are that he has a number of strong team mates. The Hesperus team may be the dark horse of the tournament, although every other oth-er team can be classed among the best in junior college circles of the western states. The Broncos will have a tough assignment on the second round of play, whether they win or lose in the first round. If they defeat de-feat Fort Lewis they will jangle with the -winner of the Compton-Westminster Compton-Westminster game, and if they lose to Colorado they will, of course, meet the loser of that game. The tourney, in spite of the fact that it is being played early in the season, will undoubtedly produce some of the best games that will be seen here during the season. Every game scheduled sched-uled could and probably will be a close, tough battle, and any team has three hard games before be-fore it can carry home the championship cham-pionship trophy. Three team trophies will be awarded, the champions getting a beautiful trophy presented by W. F. Mullet Jewelry store, the second place team receiving a trophy given by Utah Parks company, com-pany, and the consolation champions cham-pions will receive a trophy from the Columbia Iron Mining company com-pany employees.
