Show PMA Training School For Sign-up Held in Cedar City The 1953 PMA training school for sign-up was held Nov. 26 and 28, in Cedar City for county and community committeemen, ac- cording to J. Leonard Topham of the Iron County PMA committee, in charge of the school. Preal George, member of the State PMA committee, and Robert A. Roundy, farmer fieldman, were present from the state PMA of-fice, of-fice, to help conduct the training train-ing school. Those who took part on the program the first day to present background information were as follows: Preal George, Alonzo Christensen, SCR secretary; Iceland Ice-land Carlson, SCS; Joe Atkins, and Joel Richards of the Farmer's Farm-er's Home administration; Fern Johnson, home demonstration agent; Donald Dredge, soil conservation con-servation service; Leland Hey-wood Hey-wood and Wilford Bentley, U. S. Forest service. ... Ace -Roundy followed up the background information by presenting pre-senting the details needed to do the actual sign-up. The other people attending the school were: Wesley Bauer, vice chairman of PMA; Gordon Moyle, regular member-of PMA; Marie Stan-worth, Stan-worth, secretary and treasurer of Iron County committee; Alma V. Decker, Soil Conservation; Gordon Gor-don Kirtley, SCS engineer. The following PMA community committeemen participated: Ralph Perkins, John Esplin and J. M. Palmer, Cedar City; Ray V. Hunt and Bruno Biasi, Beryl; Geo. A. Topham and Wm. S. Boardman, Paragonah; Wm. M. Eyre, Earl Bunn and Harvey Parowan; Herbert D. White, Sum-mit, Sum-mit, and E. Sterling Tullis, Newcastle. New-castle. The Iron County farmers will receive a letter in the near future fu-ture informing them of the date and place of sign-up in their community for the 1953 agrlcul- tural conservation practices which they desire to carry out on their farms or rangeland. The Iron County PMA committee strongly urge the farmers to get signed up while the sign-up meeting is held in their community commu-nity as Feb. 15, 1953 has been set up as the closing date for sign-up for the 1953 program. |
