Show I Norman Day Elected Gun, Rod Club Head Norman Day, local sportsmen and farmer, was elected as president presi-dent of the Parowan Gun and Rod club for 1953 at a meeting of members of the organization Monday evening in the Iron County courthouse. He will succeed suc-ceed Robert B. Mitchell, who has been head of the club during the year which is coming to an end. At the same time Vern C. Mor-tensen Mor-tensen was named as vice president presi-dent of the club, with Duane Van Ausdal as secretary and Leonard S. Orton as treasurer. Board members named at the meeting were Earl Bunn and Woodrow Decker with Mr. Mitchell, Mitch-ell, the retiring piysident be coming a member of the board of directors also. Two more directors di-rectors will be appointed by the club officers from among members mem-bers of the club. Retiring officers are, Ralph S. Orton, vice president; Leonard S. Orton, secretary; Eugene M. Orton, treasurer, with Bernarr B. Stubbs, S. M. Clark, John S. Dal-ton, Dal-ton, jr., Gerry Bentley and Duane Van Ausdal, board members. The date for the annual Gun and Rod club ball was set for Wednesday night, Dec. 31, New Year's Eve, and plans are being be-ing formulated for this event, which Is always one of the highlights high-lights of the holiday season In the community. |
