Show Historical Society to meet By CHERIE HUBER Did you know that Rexburg, Idaho, was settled by Centerville pioneer Joel Ricks and his son Thomas E. Ricks? The town was originally called Ricksburg. Ricks College, Ricks Creek and Ricks Canyon were also named after that illustrious, if not well-known, pioneer family. Alice Moncur of Bountiful, a Ricks descendant, will be telling the Centerville Historical Society about Joel Ricks and the Ricks family, who were among the first settlers of Centerville. The Centerville Historical Society will meet Wednesday, April 3, at 7:30 p.m., at Centerville City Hall. Everyone interested in this interesting period of Centerville's history is invited to attend. |
