Show I Ben Newton, an eighth grade stu- " dent at Centerville Junior High, received his Eagle Scout award Mar-l Mar-l ch 2L He achieved the rank in Oc- An Eagle Scout court of honor will be held Wednesday, March 27, to honor Jeff Rose as he receives his Eagle rank advancement. The court will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be held in the meeting house of the Bountiful 48th Ward, which sponsors Troop 876. Jeff's Eagle project pro-ject was designed to aid and improve emergency I toberatage 13, but elected to delay I the Court of Honor to allow relatives and family to at- tend. Ben is the son of James and Helen Newton and a member of I Troop 1121 in the Centerville 21st Ward. response to his community by painting pain-ting clearly visible addresses on the street curb of each home in his neighborhood desiring the service. To further enhance emergency response, households were provided with detailed information regarding emergency response numbers and listings. The son of former Davis County Commissioner Robert D. Rose and his wife Connie, Jeff is the fourth member of his family to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. . For an Eagle project, Ben sold 60 bags of fertilizer to raise funds for 15 first aid kits at Reading Elementary, his former elementary school. The kits were an important part of the Emergency Evacuation program at the school. Ben expresses thanks to all of his scout leaders for their support in his pursuit of the Eagle rank. In addition to his Eagle, he is working on his se-i se-i cond Eagle palm and has completed Silver Moccasin training. |
