Show , Job placement class Instructors have been hired to teach the afternoon and evening classes. Karen Allen, an engineer at Unisys Corp., will provide math instruction. in-struction. Work success will be taught by Ken Hansen, a former personnel administrator. Other instructors in-structors include Lisa Shields, math educator, and quality expert, Tom Adams, who will provide instruction instruc-tion in critical thinking and problem solving. Registration is being accepted for daily classes which run from April 8 to May 24. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and test at an eighth grade reading level. The tuition fee of $98 can be waived by completing a simple federal fed-eral application form. Registration is $20. Call the DATC at 546-2441, ext. 341 for additional information. A job training course which includes in-cludes job placement assistance for completers will begin its second session at the Davis Applied Technology Center April 8. After researching the entry-level skills that are needed by most employers in the Davis and Morgan County region, the DATC developed de-veloped a training program called the "Employee Resource Pool" to teach workplace basic skills. Instruction In-struction in the program will total 140 hours. Several large, new companies are locating in the DavisMorgan region. It is expected that those companies will : hire many employees who complete this prep- " aration course. According to Greg Richens. Customized Training for Economic Growth (CTEG) director at the DATC, the Custom Fit Training Train-ing program will work with these companies and provide completers with job placement assistance. |
