Show New Harmony By MARVA PRINCE Record Correspondent Mr. and Mrs. Vivian F. Prince and sons, Elvin and Gary, spent the weekend in Las Vegas with their good friends, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Carter. On Sunday they went to Boulder City, Nev., where they attended at-tended a mission farewell for Jay Simpkins, son of friends Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Simpkins; and also visited other friends, Mr. and Mrs. Heber Tobler. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Pearce spent the weekend in Las Vegas with their children Mr. and Mrs. Gerold Pearce, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Cripps and Mr. and Mrs. Jay Pearce. Funeral services for longtime resident Reed Prisbrey were held Thursday, Feb. 19. Reed passed away Sunday, Feb. 15, and is survived by his wife, Doneva, and children: Jessie D. Prisbrey of Kanarraville, Ramona Hulet of New Castle and Donald Merriot of California. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Davis of St. George and a friend, Jane Stamford of Sacramento, Calif., spent the day here with the Davis' son Eugene, and wife Susan. Mrs. Stamford is spending two weeks here and in St. George. Darce Vernile Prince and two friends of Kamas, Utah, visited for a short time with Ver-niles' Ver-niles' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Darce Prince; and to attend some meetings in St. George. Mr. and Mrs. Don Smith spent the night here with Don's sister, Mr. and Mrs. Leland (Esta) Taylor. Mrs. Stella Brown spent the weekend in Las Vegas where she kept a doctor appointment. Mrs. Iva Harrison of St. George spent the day here with her father, and to attend funeral services of Reed Prisbrey. Mr. and Mrs. Vivian Prince attended the viewing in Cedar City for their friend, Joan Wasden of Parowan. Visiting with her friends, Mr. and Mrs. Dale King, was Jean Hugh of Lay ton, Utah. She is attending Southern Utah State College. Mrs. Carma Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Davis, daughter Marilee and granddaughter Kara visited Thursday with their sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Vivian (Marva) Prince and Gary. The Mutual held a ward potluck supper Saturday night with a large crowd attending. The Mutual sold cake and ice cream after the supper. Brent and Gary Prince spent Monday in St. George. Mrs. Doneva Prisbrey, son Jesse D. and grandson grand-son Jason of Kanarraville visited in Beaver. Visiting with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Anthon (Sylvia) Pace, was Danny Blake of Boulder City, Nev. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Orton and family of Parowan visited Sunday with their friends, Mr. and Mrs. Lowell D. Prince and family. Velda Grant, daughter of Sheldon Grant, and friend Debbie Bachus moved to Salt Lake to seek employment. Emma Nielson spent Tuesday evening in St. George visiting her granddaughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Paul (Dana) Mathews. |
